Past life therapy can be very valuable experience. However,
in the work of spirit release, past life is a subcategory, not the primary
focus. When a past life surfaces in Spirit Release or Soul Retrieval,
care is given to ascertain that the life belongs to the client and not
to an entity attached to the client. If the therapist does not understand
this, many entertaining but useless lifetimes can erroneously be ascribed
to the client.
For example, let’s say you participate in a past life regression
where you find out “you” have done something horrible in
a past life. In session, that part of “you” does not seem
to feel any remorse. In the present lifetime, you have been working
very hard to improve your sense of kindness and ethics towards others.
You think, perhaps this is compensation for your past misdeeds. You
leave the session feeling disturbed about what “you” are
capable of and find it hard to forgive yourself. But the truth is, there
is an interfering entity who just told its story, or a story, in session.
In this example, the issues related to you are: How did you attract
this negative entity to you? Was it in this lifetime or another? What
was your vulnerability that allowed it to enter? How has it affected
your life? After all the appropriate questions are answered, we release
the entity, and bring in healing energies to transmute its effect on
you, in all dimensions of being. (See Reincarnation and the History
of the Earth further in this article.)
An entity which attaches during a previous lifetime, releases at the
death of the host's life, then waits in the astral realm in between
lifetimes. When the host soul returns to this dimension to live out
another incarnation, it will pick up the entity on the way in and the
game continues.
99% of the time, an attaching entity inhibits the growth of the soul.
Imagine the frustration of lifetime after lifetime, cycling through
the same issues, unknowingly being controlled or effected by an attaching
energy.
It's not always the host soul who tires of the game. For example, an
attached earthbound entity (human soul) who tires of the cycling, will
often inspire its host (the client) to come to a Spirit Release therapist
so the attaching entity can finally find a way back to the Light.

You do not need to believe in Reincarnation to
do Spirit Release Work. Here are various views on Reincarnation
for your consideration:
Traditional View of Reincarnation
“The
Soul passeth from form to form; and the mansions of her pilgrimage are
manifold…Thou puttest off thy bodies as raiment; and as vesture
dost thou fold them up. Thou art from old, O Soul of man; yea, thou
art from everlasting” (Hermes
Trismegistus, purported author of Egyptian Book of the Dead)
We
are all eternal beings. Our bodies can die, but not our souls.
The
traditional view of reincarnation is that the soul incarnates in a body
in order to learn about itself as a multi-dimensional or divine being.
This process is not accomplished in a single lifetime, so the soul continues
its journey through birth and death, incarnating many, many times. Each
life is an opportunity to gain information and experience through different
human enactments and personalities.
When there is injury, or unfinished learning, a marker is placed on
the soul, like a bookmark to let you know where to pick up next
time. This marker is called samscara or "soul scar". The samscara
attracts the experiences needed to resolve the issues still at play.
Samscara is the underpinning of karma.
The productive aspect of reincarnation is that we can build talents
and abilities over lifetimes of experience. The difficult aspect is that
woundedness can linger over multiple lifetimes. When a soul returns
to earth to continue the work of learning, it comes in with repressed
subconscious memory and certain dispositional tendencies rooted in samscara.
Reincarnation
has an ancient history in cultures around the world and is still a basic
tenet of many religions. The dialogue of Socrates with Meno, as recorded
by Plato, discusses the nature of past life memory. Socrates was not
interested in recall of mundane detail of previous lives, but in retrieving
the capacities of knowledge which had been accumulated in the course
of many lifetimes, such as medicine, mathematics, or poetry. “All
enquiry and all learning is but recollection.”
In the Hindu epic, the Bhagavad-Gita, Krishna explains to Arjuna the
mechanism of rebirth, how unconscious memory guides personal growth,
and that there is a purpose for these lifetimes of work. “ Being
thus born again one comes in contact with the knowledge which belonged
to him in his former body, and from that time he struggles more diligently
towards perfection. For even unwittingly, by reason of that past practice,
he is led and works on…The devotee who, striving with all his
might, obtains perfection because of his efforts continued through many
births, goes to the supreme goal.”
When the subconscious, the ego and the True Self align, the soul is
free from further incarnations on earth. The Tibetan Book of the Dead
calls this moment "merging with the Primary Clear Light of Pure
Reality."

Reincarnation Viewed as Creation and "The
Fall"
Cycling in and out of lifetimes through
reincarnation may not be the path originally created for the earth; rather,
it began after the "Fall" described in many sacred texts.
To understand this view of reincarnation, it is helpful to understand Darkness.
Darkness can be considered a malfunction of the creation experiment,
a reversal of the codes, a non-souled, non-living substance, antithetical
in structure to the basic life inherent in every atom of Creation. It
has the tendency to permeate anything that it touches. It usurps free
will in a very subtle way and begins to redirect the life of its host.
Few beings have been able to resist.
When this aspect we call Darkness separated from the GodMind, confusion
reigned. Many beings aligned themselves with the Dark, and dropped into
this world of lower vibration. There are ancient stories in many cultures
describing the battle between the Light Ones and the Dark Ones for control
of this area of creation.
Today
it is popular in many spiritual beliefs and philosophies to deny the
existence of darkness, to call it an "illusion". To hold onto
the belief that the dark does not exist, is to leave room for the dark
to act within you. In order for the dark to be eradicated, it must be
seen and acknowledged.

Reincarnation Viewed
as a Force Field
Earth
is a highly coveted place in physical reality due to certain dimensional
travel properties available here. This is a multi-dimensional intersection,
a travel hub of sorts. In addition, the human form has particular abilities
we have long forgotten.
In
this way of looking at reincarnation, we see specific beings aligned
with the dark utilizing the life force of the human soul for their own
purposes. They erected a dimensional force field here to create a sort
of energy farm, forcing a recycling of souls into multiple lifetimes
we call reincarnation. Part of the hypnotic trance on earth has been
the creation of false realities, false religions, false direction, false
promises in order to keep the commodity of this place and these souls.
The
intention of soul experience has always been to explore and then return
to the GodMind. In the present system, most souls at death go to the
middle astral which we call heaven, a pleasant but temporary way-station.
Then each soul recycles back to the earth plane for another birth. The
happy story we are told about cycling over and over in this dimention,
is that more life experiences allow greater spiritual wisdom.
In
practice it hasn't quite work out that well; we seemingly have "lost"
our ability to evolve and move on. Spiritual trauma is cumulative. Souls
are broken, parts scattered into other dimensional realities, and the
Dark has penetrated deeper than was suspected. We live with compromised
pieces of truth, compromised Light, and compromised Self.
We
have been waiting for the current era, when the doors are opened wider,
we can see our way more clearly, and the balance of power on the planet
can shift into freedom.

and Spirit ).

Reincarnation and
Spirit Release in the West
In
modern times, many psychologists and psychiatrists have found themselves
unwittingly the witness of regressive memories or entity interference
spontaneously surfacing in their clients.
Psychiatrist Stanislav Grof, M.D., creator of Holotropic Breathwork,
witnessed the phenomenon of reincarnation repeatedly in his client regressions.
He also found that current difficulty in a person’s life could
be traced back to a particular kind of perinatal (womb or birth) experience
in this lifetime. He found a direct correlation between these particular
perinatal experiences and specific karmic remnants. The patterns he
found were so distinct he categorized them into four stages he calls
the Basic Perinatal Matrices.
Jungian analyst Roger Woolger, Ph.D., building on Grof’s work,
says the state of one’s death creates “the seed kernel of
complexes in other lives.” Woolger charted the connections between
death, after death, before the next birth, birth, and the subsequent
life. “Regardless of individual experiences the very process of
psychic transition from death to states beyond seems to be full of mirror
images of the transition from the beyond into the body at birth.”
Edith
Fiore, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist found through her work in hypnosis,
that by making the connections to past lives, her clients released pain,
and overcame fears of death. Areas of emotional comfort could also be
traced back to previous lives where the client had successfully integrated
that aspect. Fiore works with release of attached earthbound entities
and extraterrestrials. [Reportedly Fiore referred attachment by dark
force entities to William Baldwin, now deceased.]
Samuel
Sagan, MD, psychiatrist, created a school in Australia to teach people
how to do clearings and spirit release. His focus is primarily on what
can be called congested astral matter, and how it interferes in the
cycle of lifetimes. (See Types of Entities)
Michael
Newton, Ph.D. psychologist and hypnotherapist focuses strongly on the
bardo in his client regressions. Bardo is a Tibetan word for “the
in-between”, meaning the world between death and rebirth. The
experiences of his clients have shown consistently that the universe
which contains earth is only one of many universes. The wisdom gained
by completing the cycles in this system enables the soul to advance,
trying it’s hand at mastering the next universe, and the next.
Shakuntala
Modi, M.D., psychiatrist, practiced hypnotherapy for 14 years before
her patients began reporting past lives and spirit interference. Her
patients reported in hypnotic trance that because humanity has successfully
raised the vibration of the planet over the past few decades, part of
the veil has been removed, allowing us freedom to tap into our past
lives and other higher knowledge.
William
Baldwin, PhD, DDS, psychologist and dentist, first encountered past
life influences while using hypnotic regression for a dental patient.
Intrigued, he continued to study the phenomenon, discovering that hypnosis
was not necessary to uncover past lives or entity interference. He created
a manual for Spirit Releasement with DSM style diagnostic criteria for
differentiation of entity types, as well as the categoric strategies
needed for each type of release. The manual is a foundational contribution
to this field, but there is still more information being uncovered as
we continue to discover the elements of our existence.

Clearly we are multidimensional beings. Dreams, imagination, intuition,
thought, feelings, synchronicities are all manifestations of our far-reaching
perceptual abilities; manifestations of a reality and a self which we
are only beginning to understand.
