Why have a Tarot Reading?

Life is full of turning points, options, decisions to be made. Tarot is one way to contact your deeper wisdom, and find greater awareness about whatever is challenging you. It is a wonderful way to get to know your self better. Tarot allows you to contemplate what is ready to change, to transform, to open, as well as what is stuck and needs more attention. Tarot can also remind you of the positive qualities of yourself and your life so that you might grow in appreciation for what you already have.

What is the best way to approach a Tarot Reading?

Tarot reveals the most to those who are willing to participate. Come with your questions and with your curiosity. Come with a willingness to be seen, and a desire to know. Ask questions as deep or as practical as you wish. Or simply come with your openness; sometimes the cards will offer a message that you never thought to ask, or were too shy.

Most important, remember that Tarot is never meant to override your personal opinions or decision making. Readings only offer information based on current probabilities. You always have the option to use your free will and creativity to change elements of your life as you see fit.

Some questions to ask:

What are the underlying elements?
What is the deeper meaning?
What are the obstacles that need to be overcome?

What are my tools for change?
How could I approach this situation more effectively?
What am I learning, or trying to learn here?
What am I missing or ignoring?
How can I know myself better?
How can I come back to balance?

What is Tarot and where did it come from?

No one knows for certain where it came from or how it developed. The archetypal images appear to be remnants of the Egyptian Mystery Schools, which taught about the journey and mystery of life to initiates. The numerological structure describes the flow of the human creative process: idea, development and manifestation.

During the Dark Ages parts of the Tarot were held in safekeeping by the gypsies ("E-gypsies" who came from Egypt). Around 1300 AD, a card game appeared in Italy called Tarrocchio, which contains many images of the current system.

Readings can be done in person, over the phone or by email.

Tarot classes are offered periodically according to interest.
